From the very start of the integration of IDS and Euroimmun activities, harmonizing and expanding the training programs for the IDS random access instruments was recognized as a strategic priority. This endeavor required extensive, open communication and close collaboration between the two organizations.
Throughout the integration process, we successfully navigated several key challenges:
- Decentralized trainings: Prior to the integration of the training programs, IDS training was split between two distinct sites: Frankfurt, Germany and Pouilly, France. Conversely, the Euroimmun Academy in Lübeck, Germany, is the central location for all Euroimmun training courses.
- Knowledge Transfer: Upskilling a new team – the Euroimmun Academy team – with no prior experience with IDS instruments and assays.
- Standardization: Aligning the certification processes for all trainees.
- Platform Integration: Onboarding IDS trainers onto the e-learning platform Euroimmun Campus.
Looking back at significant milestones
The initiative of harmonizing the IDS and Euroimmun training offers was launched in spring 2025 with a collaborative transition plan designed by both teams, followed by scheduled training sessions for the Euroimmun Academy team. In autumn 2025, the Euroimmun Field Application Specialist and Field Service Engineer teams also completed several comprehensive training sessions led by IDS specialists.
Since the beginning of 2026, the Academy has been responsible for providing primary training support for the IDS random access platforms IDS-iSYS and IDS-i10, with IDS trainers providing ongoing guidance to the Academy’s team.
This has not only expanded training capacities, but achieved further operational advantages with the transition to the Academy’s centralized Euroimmun Campus:
- A flexible, user-friendly online interface enables participants to easily navigate the platform and choose from numerous training courses
- A single, unified repository for all course-related information and cross-site accessibility for all trainers, regardless of their location (Lübeck, Frankfurt, or Pouilly), ensure a consistently high training quality.
Next Steps
The integration process remains active and ongoing. Current focus areas include migrating the remaining documents to the Euroimmun Campus, giving the Euroimmun Academy trainers full autonomy to conduct sessions independently and managing the knowledge transfer also for the newest device, the IDS i20.
