With the start of the new year, EUROIMMUN Medizinische Labordiagnostika AG, a PerkinElmer, Inc. company, announces changes in its executive board. Dirk Beecker, who has been the company’s chief financial officer since 2018, has taken over as chairman from Dr. Wolfgang Schlumberger. Chief Technical Officer Dr. Bianca Huth and Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Lars Komorowski complete the EUROIMMUN executive board.
Dirk Beecker first trained as a bank clerk and then studied economics in Kiel and the US. Prior to taking over a position in controlling at EUROIMMUN in 2015, Beecker was already familiar with the company from his work at the auditing company BDO AG. “We will continue to focus on the development of innovative products and quick market launches for the benefit of patients,” says Beecker. “To be able to advance on this path together with all my colleagues as successfully as in the past years – I am very much looking forward to that.”
Bianca Huth studied biotechnology in Hamburg and obtained her doctorate from the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg in 2005. She has been employed at EUROIMMUN since 2005, where she was most recently technical director. Bianca Huth will be responsible for EUROIMMUN’s technological developments and direction as well as ensuring the successful execution of the R&D programs. “I am looking forward to tackling new challenges together, which we will do with our usual high level of team spirit and motivation,” she says.
Lars Komorowski studied biochemistry in Hannover and business administration in Hagen. In 2001 he received his doctorate in Lübeck. In the same year he joined EUROIMMUN, where he most recently headed the department of immunobiochemical research and served as co-director of the institute of experimental immunology. Lars Komorowski will be responsible for the scientific direction of the company in the area of reagent development and production. “We want to continue to have our finger on the pulse and maintain, expand and build valuable research collaborations,” he says.
Wolfgang Schlumberger moves to the supervisory board and will assume the position of chairman, with PerkinElmer General Counsel Joel Goldberg and Senior Vice President of Diagnostics Yves Dubaquie at his side. In cooperation with the executive board, the supervisory board will drive the strategy and vision of the EUROIMMUN business.
After serving more than 20 years on the executive board, Susanne Aleksandrowicz, managing director of human resources, organization and administration, has retired from her role at EUROIMMUN, where she spent almost 32 years of her professional career. “We would like to thank her for the valuable cooperation, her commitment and her passion with which she played a major role in shaping EUROIMMUN, and wish her all the best for her future path,” says Dirk Beecker.
